Yerevan Refugee Community Council Summed Up Its First Year of Work

On August 14, the Yerevan Refugee Community Council held its final session of the first year, presenting the results of its work over the past year.

During this period, the Council held 11 sessions, implemented three community initiatives, organized training courses, and held two public discussions with more than 100 participants. Council members also submitted a number of proposals to state and international organizations addressing the socio-economic needs of displaced people in the Republic of Armenia.

The members reflected on their participation in the Council’s work, the experience they gained, the changes observed over the course of the year, as well as prospects and mechanisms for making the Council’s work more effective․

At the end of the session, the Council members were presented with certificates confirming their one-year membership in the Council. 

The "Human Rights for and with Refugees" project is implemented with the support of the European Union by the Democracy Development Foundation, the Estonian Refugee Council, the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Women, and Commit Global. The project focuses on empowering refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh by providing essential knowledge about their rights, addressing vulnerabilities, and improving access to user-friendly resources on their entitlements and opportunities.
